Configure Meta Tags

What are Meta Tags?

Meta tags are an area of each web page that is not visible when looking at your website. The two main Meta Tags fields include a comma separated list of keywords and a general description of your website.

Do all search engines use the Meta Tags?

No. Not all search engines look at your meta tags. Even the search engines that look at meta tags only use them for a small part of the indexing process. Most search engines weigh the visible content on your pages being more important than meta tags.

Descriptions are used by some search engines when displaying your site in a search result. Keep your description short (25-30 words) or most search engines will truncate.

Keywords are used by search engines such as Google, and Yahoo to index your site. Select each keyword or phrase and be sure they are separated by a comma.
