What is a sitemap file?

A sitemap file contains a listing of all the pages on your website. Some search engines such as google use a sitemap file to help index your website. Having a sitemap file does not increase your search rankings, but it can be used to work better with the search engines and get more information about how your site is being indexed.

How is the sitemap used?

To use sitemaps you must first setup an account with the search provider, validate your site and then give the search engine the link to your sitemap file. To create your site map or update your site map file, click the link below. Google requires that you add HTML codes to the HEAD area of your website to verify that you own the website.
